Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu arrived in Abuja earlier today to relay the grievances of the youths in Lagos State to the President. He had earlier spent time talking to some youths who were calmly protesting at Alausa, Lagos before his flight.
He later on met with the Inspector General of Police and had this to say via his Instagram account, ‘I had an intense engagement on my arrival in Abuja with the Inspector General of Police. Mohammed Adamu.
I relayed the grievances of the protesters to him. And presented him with their demands.
Accountability and rule of law was top on the agenda of my meeting with him.
Stringent laws are being put together as a guide towards the new Nigerian Police.
He gave me his commitment to look into all cases of abuses and human rights violations, and promised that all erring officers will be brought to book.
This is just the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership between the Nigerian Police and citizens. We will not rest until there’s a total overhaul of all our security outfits.’
