Netflix Series, Bridgerton records a major hit

‘Bridgerton,’ the first show to debut from Netflix’s mega deal with producer Shonda Rhimes, has proved to be an immediate hit, with 63 million households watching the multi-racial Regency romance in its first four weeks, the streaming giant said.

That makes the fifth-best debut ever for a show on the service, which now has more than 200 million accounts worldwide. Netflix uses the 28-day debut numbers as a key metric in tracking what’s a big success for the company, though it only infrequently publicly releases figures like those for ‘Bridgerton.’
