Is this the end of the road for Mason Greenwood?

Football player, Mason Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on Sunday after a woman posted visual and audio allegations on social media of an incident.

Manchester United condemned the act and further said that the 20-year-old forward “will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”

In an earlier statement, the Old Trafford side made it clear that they are aware of “images and allegations” that appeared on social media regarding the 20-year-old. Whilst this will come as little concern for Greenwood and those who have been impacted by the behaviours that he has been accused of, it does display the immediate reaction of those who used to play alongside him.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to unfollow Greenwood on social media following the events, whilst Jesse Lingard, David de Gea, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay all followed suit on Instagram.

As the situation unfolds the fate of the 20 year old is becoming indecisive as if found guilty he stands to lose his contract, a budding career filled with so much prospects, a damaged image of his person and a prison time.

Several questions would have been needed to ask but who would answer them? In all honesty, how did Greenwood allow things to degenerate to this level which has more or less cost him everything in a viable career guaranteed of so much more.
