NOWA and IBI Foundation collaborates to celebrate Veterans during the Armed Forces Remembrance Celebration

As part of activities marking the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, the IBI Foundation launched an initiative the Veterans Outreach Initiative (VOI) in collaboration with NOWA (Naval Officers Wives Association) which commenced on 15th January and ended on the 31st of January 2022. This outreach was put together to present retired personnel with gift boxes to appreciate them for their sacrifice and selfless service.

The NOWA President was Represented by The NOWA Vice President, Mrs Juwairia Garba who expressed the Association’s need to be a part of this and support the cause greatly. Several of the beneficiaries also commended and appreciated the Nigerian Navy, NOWA and the Foundation for the thoughtfulness to reach out to them and appreciate their selfless works towards the peace and unity of the Country.

The Event was held at the Ta’al Model E-Library in Keffi, Nasarawa State. The Chief Executive Officer/Founder of IBI Foundation, retired Lt Cdr Ibrahim Baba-Inna, said the foundation commenced the veterans outreach with support from the Chief of the Naval Staff and The NOWA President adding that over 200 beneficiaries had been reached nationwide. Baba-Inna said the initiative was borne out of the desire to reach out to a group of people that had dedicated their lives to defending their country.

The main goal of the foundation was to alleviate the sufferings of the vulnerable, less privileged and disabled in the society, believing in impacting positively in the lives of youths and creating clearer and secure future. The foundation also advocates for the achievements of the sustainable development goals and ensures through its programmes, that no one is left behind among other initiatives.
